======================================= Enable Viacam Installation Instructions ======================================= This document describes how to compile and install Enable Viacam for GNU/Linux and Windows platforms. Linux ===== - Pre-requisites -------------- wxWidgets >= 2.6 opencv >= 1.0 gtk+-2.0 libxtst libxext Ubuntu notes: in order to compile on Ubuntu (karmic) and GGv6 you need the following packages: libxext-dev, libxtst-dev, libgtk2.0-dev, libwxbase2.8-dev, libwxgtk2.8-dev, libhighgui-dev, libswscale-dev - Generic compilation and installation ------------------------------------ ./configure make make install - Generic compilation and installation (debug mode) ------------------------------------------------- ./configure --enable-debug make make install - Source package generation ------------------------- ./configure make dist - DEB Packages ------------- Before generating any .deb package make sure file debian/changelog is up to date. Run the following command and check that contents are correct: dhc -i * DEB source package generation ./configure make deb-src * changes file generation Useful when generating packages for several distros. Assumes previous step has been done. For each distro edit debian/changes with dch -i add the right information then run make deb-src-changes * DEB binary package generation ./configure make deb Old way: 1.- Ensure that config.status doesn't exists (i.e. make distclean) 2.- Run: fakeroot debian/rules binary 3.- Clean tree:fakeroot debian/rules clean - RPM package generation ---------------------- ./configure make rpm Windows ======= - Pre-requisites -------------- VS2003 wxWidgets = 2.8.x opencv >= 1.0 Platform SDK (tested with PSDK-x86_WindowsServer2003_SP1(2005)) DirectX SDK 9.0 Update (February 2005) or later - Building using Visual Studio 2003 --------------------------------- Build project under \Microsoft Platform SDK\Samples\Multimedia\DirectShow\BaseClasses\ Works with VS2003, but is also supposed to work for newer VS versions. Visual Studio solution (.sln) is in win32/ directory. You should set the following environment variables: WXWIN to point to wxWidgets folder CVPATH to point to opencv1 folder PSDK_DIR to point the Platform SDK folder Build as Release. Once the program is compiled, you may wish to create the installer. Inno Setup is used for installer generation on Windows
